Danger, Will Robinson!

Image
down the road a piece, a train actually came along this line. i saw it as i crossed the tracks from the other side, so i stopped and got some pics as it came through. i was MUCH closer to it when it first came. there are two sets of tracks about 40 feet apart and i was between them shooting as it came into view.

ahhhh...church in the tropics. why don't we all live there? well, not in church....in the tropics.

Rooster

Image
roosters roam everywhere on Key West. they're in low-income neighborhoods and the parking lots of 5-star hotels. they strut down the main drag, and hide on porches on side streets. and they're all so very colorful. reds, yellows, teals, greens, blacks, blues...you can find all sorts of colors on different ones, and some have almost all of them.

Brooke

my wife...a little overexposed on the Naples pier. seriously, i played with this shot for half an hour and even when the exposure was so high that only her eyes showed up she was still stunning!

my wife. :-) this was the view off our balcony in our Key West hotel room. well, my view. she didn't see herself in the frame... :-)

Bicycles on the porch

we were getting ready to leave Key West, so i walked to get the car (a little further than Brooke or I realized). while walking i passed this house and snapped a couple of pics.

photoshop lesson #1

today i spent 3 hours on skype with my brother, Matt, who taught me several things about editing my pictures.  i'll probably need a few more times to let it all sink in, but i was so glad to finally understand so much  of what i'd just dabbled in previously. lots of practical things were explained to me in this session, but definitely the most fun was erasing a branch from a photo.  pretty amazing stuff... so the next bunch of photos that go up will be from MY HONEYMOON!  woohoo!  we had a great time in naples and key west, fl.  the keys are amazing, but the whole state is a photo waiting to be taken.  we loved the natural beauty very much..
